I took the opportunity to shoot a few little videos during the soundcheck for the gig I am having tonight and also, show you our stage setup, as we usually send it to gig organizers.
The stage setup is usually a very important aspect, as it will save you all the trouble in the world and it will usually be the thing that separates you and your band from a decent soundcheck. If you don't have the stage setup plan for your band, you will end up having to perform on the existing gear.
We usually bring the guitar amps, complete drum set, bass amp, pedalboards and we have two technicians making sure that everything is in spot and ready in the minimum time possible, so that we may use the soundcheck - considering tonight's situation, when we are sharing the stage with 5 more bands, being fast and efficient with the setup is vital, because if you waste the allocated time frame, you end up without any soundcheck done. That is one of the worst things possible for your performance, so, having everything prepared is a very good thing to do. If you can afford technicians, the better and if you have your own live set sound engineer, it's the best possible situation, as he can make you or unmake you if you get my meaning.
You can find the stage setup in the picture below (the exact components will be available tomorrow - when you send the picture, you also send the gear list) and the movies embedded here will show a glimpse of the stage, the bass pedalboard and one of the guitar pedalboards. (Turn the volume of your computer as low as possible before watching the movies )
