Actually those players are all rock-fusion with a larger emphasis on rock. They all do have albums and songs that are more pure fusion (Greg’s “Extraction”, Garsed’s “Uncle Moe’s”, and some of Guthrie’s live stuff), but for the most part they are more rock than jazz-fusion. Players like Allan Holdsworth and Derryl Gabel better reflect what’s considered to be fusion music.

But if you want the true master who combined everything from rock, symphonic classical, fusion, blues, jazz, shred, pop, and eastern styles into one genius package, then look no further than Shawn Lane... http://youtube.com/watch?v=hL4AMwrAcyE http://youtube.com/watch?v=Ype9A7cqo5s http://youtube.com/watch?v=IkLSoXSQcYQ http://youtube.com/watch?v=qtJBVCACwRE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Me_J2FaVtU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZzQCP2EWx8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpP_Eix2INg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVVyi-DuwMQ http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3...e+-+Masterclass http://youtube.com/watch?v=IOMDVMIfkxg http://youtube.com/watch?v=-Q_r8DD1GCE This post has been edited by InstruMental Case: Jun 5 2007, 06:00 PM |
