Hey guys, i really need to get some good backing tracks for blues improvisation. I checked the topic in the Uploads section and couldnt find anything. Can someone please provide links for downloadable backing tracks? Thanks You can find one track in my instructor board topics called "backings" or something, just follow the link in my signature -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE

Thanks!! It sounds great for jamming, what key is it in? I'd advise you to find that out yourself. It will help your ear out so much. |

no, it really was mean... well you should And you guys know something... I still havent figured the key.. lol, well, if i had to guess.... lets see, i played with the G minor scale over it and it sounded good. So i think its in the Key of G or C..... ... Here's a useful tip - you can find only the roots first knowing that you use I IV V progression. Firts find the roots and you will be sure then in what key are you then. -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE

I always find the key to a backing just playing a scale over it until it sounds good. Then I check the root note of the first cage of the scale, and that's the key. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong but so far it always works!).
If it sounds sad, I guess I'm on minor, so I check the root of 1st cage of the minor scale. If it sounds happy, I guess it's ionian, and I check the root of 1st cage of the major scale. And I do the same with pentatonic scales. I bet there are many other ways to figure the key of a song, but trying by ear is the easiest for me. Edit: Thanks for that link with BTs, Juan!!
