Ok, call me naive, dimwitted, a GMC:n00b or whatever you will.. I was just pondering this for a little.
What if GMC had a "guest instructor" invitation sent to well known guitarists around the globe? Sure I understand that most professional musicians just wouldn't have the time or the inclination to dedicate a few hours to produce a lesson and we have so many AMAZING instructors already (I am not unappreciative of this at all), but you never know. Maybe, just maybe someone would oblige..
Imagine that, a lesson by one of your long-time guitar heroes, and imagine how many new members that could attract.
Yes, I am clueless about the logistics and policies of such a thing but I just wanted to put my crazy thoughts down

It's just a question of value. Most of those rockstars will ask for FAR more money than the instructors here. I prefer to have 10 lessons from the current instructors to one from $randomrockstar. Licensed lessons of well known songs would be nice and probably less expensive though.
