Hey Ayan,

Yes! You have come to the right place!  🤗

A good starting point would be for you to let me know what you are currently working on, what your long term goals are - as well as your favorite guitarists / bands!

This will give me a first impression of how we can kick this off.

Hi Kris,

Thanks for the reply.

I am currently starting with the guitar after some months. I know some basic chords like the major and minor chords open and bar positions. Although, the bar position needs some practice.

My goal is to learn the music theory, to create music like my most favourite player in the recent times Nick Johnston. I would love to start slow and easy because most of the times I get a bit overwhelmed with the amount and complexity of content online.

Apart from Nick I also love guitarists like Plini, Andy Timmons, Andy Wood, Mark Lettieri, Andre Nieri, John Mayer, Eric Johnson, Buckethead and Joe Satriani of course.

Hope it answers your question.

Regards,
Ayan

Thanks a lot, this is giving me a great picture of your goals. These are absolutely amazing guitarists and working towards their styles could be a really cool journey 👌👌👌

To follow up, is there any theory you feel somewhat comfortable with at this point (ie like the pentatonic box etc) ?

Also, if you would like to share a video which you feel is somewhat representative of your playing today that would be very helpful.

Hi Kris,

In terms of theory I am aware of major and minor scale construction and how the major and minor chords are made.

Also please find attached the link of a video I have shot.

Thanks a lot Ayan, this gives me a good impression! I can see you have already come a long way.

Have you ever tried playing any lead guitar? Is that something you would like to share with me as well?
