Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Very nice!

First: try to always tap your foot when playing. You obviously know the rhythm of this one well, but developing the habit of constantly feeling the pulse in your body will help you immensely when tackling rhythms you are not comfortable with.

The main thing that drags you down here is your bending and vibrato - just like last time. Of course no one expects you to deliver Gilmour style bending here. But given the quality of the rest of your playing - you should definitely prioritise this. When you will be able to deliver a clear improvements on this area, you will have taken a big step towards pro levels of playing.

I can't wait to follow your progress mate 👌

Keep it up you get an 8 from me!

Hi Sack! Nice to find this take here! smile.gif

I would work on 3 elements in order to improve your playing here: Tone, Bending and Vibrato. Each of these elements is essential when playing David Gilmour style.

You tone needs some EQ adjustment (You can preshape it adding a tubescreamer before the amp, it can be a sofware emulation) and some ambience effects (reverb, delay).

Once you adjust your tone, please dedicate some time to play along with the lesson (or original song) to get the most of those bends and vibrato. Sometimes you tend to make some fingers movement while the movement should start from your wrist.

Keep on the hard work!

It's a 7!

Hey there!

First thing that took my attention was your right hand being a little too close to neck pickup. Strat guitar is unfortunately a little uncomfortable in some cases. First because of the volume pot being very close to right palm (ocasionally hit with it) and the middle pickup being a problem for pick to stack between pole pieces. Most players got used to it but some do a radical reduction of middle pickup height for example. Anyways...you should definitely move your hand a little towards the bridge so the playing range is more on the middle pickup or slightly in front of it.

It is visible you don't have a smooth vibrato yet, but the vibration mechanics you try to develope, are correct and we should give them sometime. I don't see a particular, technical aspects to fix/complain.It's a little "shy" by now, but will develope through time. For now just try to speed up th e vibrato rate.

I think this lesson demands a little more distortion/gain so it will deliver more sustain. It all sound dry and not much Gilmourish but I'm sure your can fix this.

From the good things your left hand fingers seems to shape well and you work on some unwanted noise muting as well. That's great.
