It could seem that we do spend a lot of time obsessing over details that, possibly, only we would ever know about.

But.. there is another aspect to it and I'm just putting this out there as an alternative point of view. When we know about something that we could have tweaked but didn't, it can often nag at us and every time we hear the results we think about that thing we didn't change. So, it becomes less about what is perceived by the listeners but more about the knowledge that we didn't make that last little bit of effort to change something that annoyed us.

Or something like that !?

But I think that overall he's got a very good point. We have to learn when to let go.

I think that's also something you just have to learn to let go.
