I'm sure to some extent it depends on the person.
But.. for example I've just started on the Tim Quinn Fluid soloing books Book 1 is arpeggios He starts with Emin7 Emin Triad, E7, Emaj triad, Emaj7, Edim7, Emin6 and Emin7b5 two versions 16th note and a triplet version with a slight difference to make the timing fit. My thought is get my fingers knowing the first pattern and get it to a steady tempo (not fast) without mistake and then do the same with the next pattern and then practice both. Maybe do the Major first then minors, then the E7 and Ddim7 focusing on the 16th note versions. Then when they are solid start on the triplet versions. At some point in the practice they need to be incorporated into music and played from other root notes. I don't want to confuse my brain and fingers or rush through without really learning them properly and nailing them, but I don't want to get bored and drift off to the next thing my brain says will make me awesome. -------------------- My SoundCloud
