> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi, here another REC take

original lesson: Metal for Beginners

I used:
- Ibanez RG2550Z GK
- Digitech RP1000
- Digitech Grunge
- DAW: Cubase le4
- MS Movie maker
- Ernie Ball 3121

My first REC in standing position. It was more tricky than I thought!

I agree with Ben! Very good take - you should become a little more de-tensioned, relax and follow the groove.

As an extra - your guitar position should be quite the same when standing and when sitting down, otherwise you'll end up in a situation where you won't be able to play stuff as easily because of the newly created angles with which your body is not used to.

Very nicely played, tight and nicely defined. Your attitude did suffer here a bit, because you were tensed up for the sake of good playing. It leaves slight impression of not being confident enough. Timing is good, but slightly rushed throughout the take. It's not dead on, but it's very close to the original, so it's a 9 from me. Excellent work.

Very good take man! You learnt the lesson perfectly. I also think that there is something about the timing and your groove to improve in your playing... Listen to your version and then listen again to Lian's... you will feel the groove in Lian's playing, it isn't something easy to note and achieve but I think that it's your next step to get a 10 on this one.
