Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

WOW you totally blew me away with the first half - I could tell you were feeling it and you fingers are flying all over the place with high precision! Extremely well done!

At 00:33 something happens - and all of a sudden you are not quite in charge anymore, instead it feels like you are struggling to keep up with the tempo. At this point you start loosing both timing and hand sync.

I don't really think this is due to some technical issue, I just think you need to give this one more time.

I do think you have some opportunities in adjusting your right hand picking movement though - if you can make it smaller you will find some of the runs more effortless.

It is a 6 from me now - but if you can play the second half with the same conviction as the first - you will get a top grade!

Keep up the amazing progress man 👊

Hi Beat! It's great to see you again in the REC section. You chose a very beautiful lesson but a very hard one.

You did a great job and your playing have a lot of improvements!!! I will point some things which require an additional work.

As Kris said, you started good from the timing point of view but after half you began to run after the backing track. From 0:52 you rushed things too much.

0:07 - you missed a note

0:24 - 0:26 - wrong notes. Isolate this part and be careful what you do with your index finger. Stretch your fingers and keep the index in the position to play each part of the lick. Don't move it before to finish the phrase because you will hit wrong notes.

0:33 - again you have a wrong note - it seems you pressed the 17 fret from the A string instead of D string

0:42 - this part need more work at a slower tempo. Review your pull- off technique and add more practice to it. Everything should sound very clear.

0:55 - the most weakest spot from the take. It doesn't sounds good at all. You miss a few notes, the arpeggios aren't played clear and also you have some hand synch problems. Add a little work to your sweep technique.

0:59 - you failed the final chords

Definitely your alternate picking it's the stronger point in this take but unfortunately the rest of the techniques and those wrong notes make me unable to gave you a higher grade. You have a 6 from me.

Keep up your awesome work! smile.gif

You've been doing great at BOOTCAMP and I can see serious improvement in your alternate picking!! I won't repeat what's been said before here. I am very impressed with you progress on this from the last time and it feels like you have a good handle on the first half and maybe still working on some of the last half. This piece has so many techniques to it that it's a great way to work on a lot of things at once. You are much closer on this. Solid 7 and I think one more go will do it!

Awesome work Beat!!

This lesson is very demanding and I think that you only need to work on the details in order to master it. Monica has already marked the exact parts that need special attention. Sounds good overall, but there is a feeling that tricky licks still need work to sound more consistent, without missed notes or timing issues.

Once you get comfortable with this tempo, it would be great to spend some time to focus on the sound and dynamics of your picking. This is very advanced because the lesson is fast and demanding, but it will take your playing to a whole new level.

Keep up the good work!
