The only MK IV Marshalls I know of are the late 60s JTM 'Blues Breakers' amps.
The 2204 amps were 70s JMPs which turned into the 80s JCMs. It's probably a mkII. Does it have a master volume? History ... https://solodallas.com/the-vintage-marshall-guide Serial numbers and dating ... https://reverb.com/news/how-to-date-a-marshall-amp -------------------- - Ken Lasaine

I just found a pic that I posted in the forums years ago of the back of the head. My friend was sure it said Mk IV but I seemed to remember differently. It is indeed an Mk 2. Sorry, false alarm. If I remember correctly it does have a master vol and 4 inputs. Also I am fairly certain that it has the cascaded pre-amp. And the power and standby switches are of the metal toggle variety and not the rocker style switches. I'll post some pics tomorrow. Also I am aware that there was some kind of mod performed on the amp, I think you use a jumper across a couple of the inputs which is something else I need to find more about. Thanks for the links. I found that solodallas site too and so far that was the best info I have found. https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...st&p=680835 This post has been edited by AK Rich: Jan 2 2018, 02:47 AM |
