Thanks Kevvyg - I just bought the computer 3 weeks ago to serve as a distraction while my arm heals up from tendinitis (3 weeks and counting - nightmarish!). Looking at the specs, it looks quite capable of handling anything out there at the moment. I'll soon be picking up a Line 6 PodXT or Pod 3 (I haven't broken the news to my wife yet so I am trying to figure out how to get one after getting a new guitar 2 months ago and a new computer last month - it looks like I may be mortgaging several future Xmas'.

Yeah, I love Rush - I picked up lots of little Rush licks over the years but I only know the rhythm tracks for a few songs. I think the recent call for lessons on things like the solo for Working Man may be a nice call.

Glad I could be of assistance!
Not sure what a Line 6 PodXT is! I'm guessing it's an effects unit (I'll Google it!). I'm still using an ME5. It's quite old now, but still going strong.

I'll have to try that. I wrote a topic a few days ago about getting discouraged, and this will help too.

Thanks!

I spelled my username wrong...I didn't even think that was possible!

Look at the topic for my guitar...
Finished Guitar Build

Gear:
Homemade strat (You still need to look at its topic!)
Squier strat (probably going to get rid of it and get another guitar instead) :)
Line 6 spider amp (not actually used for anything, just acts as a speaker)
Digitech Gnx2 (kind of old, but cheap, and sounds amazing!)

This is an excellent discussion, with lots of good tips for everyone! I myself work slightly different in that i will work on peices untill I have actually nailed them, even if it takes a year or more (often does). I also have a few lessons on the go at any one time smile.gif

This wont work for everyone, and its important to find a practice routine to suit you, which it seems to me most of you have smile.gif
