I've been playing the guitar for about four years now and have loved every minuite of it. Although, recently i've been finding myself playing less and less. I'm afraid that soon i'm not going to touch my guitar again. Anyone have anything special they did when they needed inspiration.

Listening to music i think would be what does it for me. But i havnt been uninspired and havnt been playing long, I have just been too lazy to practice. The more i practice, the better i get, and the more fun it becomes to be able to do new things. Maybe guitar just isn't your thing??? i dont know huh.gif

Listen to Music, Watch Concert DVD's, Go To Concerts...

And every once in awhile, go on youtube and just look up guitar videos.

Usually the only time people get tired of playing the guitar is when they reach a plateau in their playing. Keep at it bro! Whether it's taking guitar lessons locally, finding books, or using great websites like GMC, just keep learning, and when you start making progress again you'll regain inspiration.

Suib, man I know exactly what you're going through. I've been there a couple of times myself.

Do you compose music, or just play what others have composed?

I know I got a huge amount of inspiration when I got myself a recording studio, and started composing/recording. It don't have to be an $10000 studio. Just get one of those sequencers for your computer!

I know how you feel also, i just started a lttle while ago losing inspiration, thinking that i couldnt get no better and im not going nowhere with guitar and everything, but i do to get my inspartion back is play somethign REALLY HARD, harder than what you usually play, and nail it, just keep practicing it,a dn you will notice a growth in your guitar skills pretty quickly if i do say so myslef, and you also doing that should somtimes find a lick that you want, and think up some new stuff, adn make lil things out of it biggrin.gif, hope that can hel pyou
