hey there!

I was going to learn to lesson "Melodic Solo in Gm" when I noticed that he plays different on several spots if you compare the intro (where he plays the whole solo) and the learning videos. What he teaches you is not identical to what he plays in the intro movie. This is my first video that I am trying to learn so I dont know if it's like this in more videos or if there actually is a reason for this. Please tell me why it is like this ohmy.gif

Don't worry, it's the same note wink.gif
Fret 10 on the G string and fret 6 on the B string is both an F, so they sound the same. It's just that Carlos use a slide on the same string he was allready playing on to get that specific sound/feel in that lick wink.gif

It's that way over the entire fretboard. If you take fret 5 on the low E (thickest string), and play an open A string (the string right below it), you hear the same note smile.gif This formula goes everywhere on the fretboard, except when playing the G and B string (third and second thinnest), where the B string is tuned in a weird way and you only have to move 4 frets over to get the same note on the G and B string.... If that made any sense tongue.gif

E|-------------7--
B|--0---------12---
G|--4----5---------
D|-------10--------
A|--0-------------
E|--5-------------

The two notes next to eachother here sound similar wink.gif

I found that this happened to me a couple of times. When I show it slowly I play slide instead of a bend but it doesn't really matter that much. All the notes are the same and that's just some stylistical issue. As long as you can make it sound good feel free to reposition some stuff if you find some better approach.

I recommend using main video and Guitar pro file as reference to avoid those kind of problems in future smile.gif

Ah, I get it, but why change the pattern anyway? It might just confuse beginners like me mellow.gif

It happens sometimes that instructors put a variation in slow video. Anyway is good, and you can look up GP file for reference and see what kind of way you are most comfortable with. If you find it too confusing to play, you can always PM instructor with the question. I'm sure they will answer right away smile.gif

As long as notes are correct, it's fine. Ornaments are not that important!

I've actually looked at this lesson, and for the ending sequence has notes that the tab does not have. Just a side note
