Hello Muris,

I saw some of your videos on youtube, and i was very impressed with your playing. You have inspired me to be a better player, so much so that i signed up with the site today so i can learn from you.

I am going through Alternate Picking lessons that you have done and hope to improve my speed and overall technical ability.

I also have a question for you regarding the Alternate Picking,

When you play 16th notes, do you accent every 4th note so you can keep your timing. I have seen John Petruci's videos and he mentioned that, i just wanted to see what you think about it? smile.gif

Hi Nermin, thanks for your kind words and welcome to GMC! smile.gif

16th are grouped into 4 notes inside of one 4th beat, just as you said.
Now,it may be easier to track them down if you accent every 4th note a little.
But it's not the must imho,it mostly depends of the licks in general.
Sometimes you have to play bunch of 16th notes without any accents,to get some kind of a flow.
And also there are licks when you have to accent each 4th of 16ths.
So main thing is to understand and feel 16th notes,4 notes per one beat,
then you can decide will you go with or without accents, and when.

Hope I didn't miss something. smile.gif
