Chuck Liddell is what got me interrested in MMA in the first place a looong time ago, so I was a bit sad to see him get knocked out against Evans.. I can't stand Evans actually, so it was extra sad that it was against him
I think Liddell has a few great fights left in him, but he obviously needs to mix up his gameplan a little as people have him figured out by now. He should start to implement his kicks again, where have they been the last few years?
And him being a better wrestler than Tito (Yeah, that's actually true), why don't he use it? I think he relies too much on his right hand, but it has been known to work so why not
Meh, just hopes he comes back strong
Rokchik: You did Kempo and don't like Chuck?
Yeah it will be cool, I'll let you know with a few updates every now and then
Couture vs. lesnar will be awesome
I don't know what it is about Liddell but I never liked him... even before he beat up Couture twice
even considering his Kempo
I just don't like him. Now don't get me wrong he is an amazing MMA fighter, but like you said he's pretty much figured out. And I agree with you that he's always looking to use his right hand, which is why I think he's been beat so much lately... he certainly does need to mix things up.
As for kicking, personally I think it's something that is missing in the UFC. Look at the Franklin-Hamill fight from Saturday. Franklin used some great inside leg kicks to wear down Hamill and then TKO's him with an awesome kick to the body. Just great. Kicks are effective but most people go for the take down or the big knockout punch... but kicks also get you in trouble quick if not used right... uhum Silva-Irvin
There are some guys who use the kicks often but I think it is still very underused.
