Pat Benatar. She is beautiful and rocks. At least for her time.
http://www.google.com/musica?aid=T75GSGNfe...c&ct=result -------------------- "Think of a guitar solo as a paragraph. You need a clear beginning, a middle, and an end. Look at musical phrases like sentences, and make sure you break them up using punctuation—or space. You pause naturally when conversing, right? If you don't, you'll bore the listener. The same thing will happen with your audience if your solo is one dimensional. You'll wear them out and lose their attention." —Tom Principato

Pat Benatar. She is beautiful and rocks. At least for her time. http://www.google.com/musica?aid=T75GSGNfe...c&ct=result One of the top 3 based on vocal talent. defining it the same way I would a good instrument, range and tone quality. I understand she turned down an opportunity after High School to study opera at Juilliard. Favorite all time is 80's Cyndi Lauper. She got sort of characterized as a novelty, and many are not aware of what an incredible voice she had. Here is a bootleg crappy video from early 90's in Argentina doing a song she actually recorded early on as an unknown with a band called Blue Angel. At the end some guy screams at the end "I Love You" and she breaks down laughing, but picks it up and hits the note right on, incredible. Lets see any of your singers attempt this song Uncreator. Right, in their dreams. http://youtube.com/watch?v=-cxXAwKWukU |

To me the best female vocalist ever is Aretha Franklin. May not be an original choice but that's the model to reach 4 me! http://it.youtube.com/watch?v=YP4VDbmfi8k&...feature=related
And watch out this version of "Nessun Dorma" http://it.youtube.com/watch?v=9ySU8y---tM&...feature=related Another singer whose I adore the voice (even though not so much the music) is the Italian singer Mina, for her extraordinary extension, and her ability to make so deep vibratos in the lower notes. http://it.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4MsW-Saves >>This is really touching!!! When I began to sing, I took inspiration especially from Linda Perry http://it.youtube.com/watch?v=LiDpMfEeo3Q Her voice style and her attitude influence me still so much after 13 years. It's a pity she doesn't sing anmore. She was simply great! But could Linda Perry exist without Janis Joplin? http://it.youtube.com/watch?v=JjD4eWEUgMM Other singer I like is the earlier Skin from Skunk Anansie http://it.youtube.com/watch?v=JjD4eWEUgMM And Patti Smith - seen her live a couple of years ago and been surprised about the amazingly powerful voice she still has!! http://it.youtube.com/watch?v=bCn-mpXZZps&...feature=related I don't like these singers so much just for the unique voice and the techinque, but because they can express emotions in a REALLY SANGUINE WAY... Just as I like to do....put my blood, body and soul into music!!!
