There has to be something that prompted FB to single him out. Something on his personal page and/or in the vids he's posted that the claimants felt was an egregious violation.

I've had a few copyrights 'approved by claimant' or whatever they call it on Youtube and the same material then appearing on my FB personal page along with sometimes two 'band/artist' pages ... not too mention then shared by others. This is the exact language ... "Copyrighted content was found in your video. The claimant is allowing their content to be used in your YouTube video. However, ads might appear on it."

Maybe the guy links to a personal website or Patreon page that charges for a 'lesson' on the same material - ?
I don't do any of that.

This is interesting - if Ken is right it would make more sense.

Is Facebook a reliable platform to share your stuff. I never used it, always kinda saw it with a back foot tbh.

It's a proven fact that guitar faces have a bigger impact on tone than wood does.

He's a guitar teacher that mostly made acoustic guitar lessons (most teaching a song).

He probably payed for a video of his as personal advertising and thats how he got the attention. Still, I'd guess they're also monitoring shares that have a high view rate.

It is the copyright holders prerogative whether they want to allow it or not.

Agreed. Hypothetically I've wondered what would happen if I took Andy's album or Justin Sandercoes album and covered the songs and showed people how to play them without asking. ohmy.gif

I've shared several covers of 80's tunes that I did Metal versions of on facebook, but it's just shared for fun, there is no profit / sale or anything related to it. If they smell blood in the water, they want a piece. If no money is changing hands, they don't seem to mind as much. At least that's been my experience.

Youtube is much worse IMHO, when I share a game vid capture, they block it for having copyrighted music from the game in the background.
