who do you think are the most technical and fast guitarists that still sound awesome?
mine are:

1. john petrucci
2. guthrie govan
3. bucketehad
4. shawn lane
5. jeff loomis (although i'm new to him and still find his music a little too hectic and scary)

yes i know that being able to play fast isn't what music is about but speed is just another tool in the music toolbox :-P

Totally agree. Though he has 2 square meters with pedals, he`s keeping his tone way under the high-gain level. Something I believe requires much more precision and strong articulation when playing (which he has tons of cool.gif )
