Hey GMC,

I've stumbled across a a couple of new bands that I thought I'd share with you guys. Some may already be familiar but these guys are new to me smile.gif

The first is a group called Black Stone Cherry. I've shared this with a couple of people already on MSN but wanted to add here. I bought some music on iTunes and this was given to me as a recommendation. I liked the name of the band so I figured I'd check them out and man am I glad I did. Love these guys.

Lonely Train

Shooting Star

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=maMCAmj5gh8...feature=related
Backwoods Gold

Great Southern Rockers!!!!!!

The second band is actually one that Black Stone Cherry recommended on their website. It's a band from New Jersey call the Parlor Mob. These guys are amazing. It's not very hard to tell they are very much influenced by Led Zeppelin and the singer, Mark Melicia sounds alot like Robert Plant. It's almost eerie. Kinda interested to what folks will say about these guys actually but I really like them.

Bullet

Tide of Tears

Hope you guys like smile.gif

PS: Both groups are on myspace aswell if you wish to check out further.

I'm a huge Zeppelin fan as well and I was floored when I heard these guys. Melicia on some songs, man if you close your eyes you could see Plant singing. (my opinion anyways) For me these guys are a breath of fresh air. Sort of a modern throw back to when how you played was the key to your success not mainstream media and the music is what mattered.

I'm glad you liked them. Check out their myspace page and their album is available on iTunes if your interested smile.gif

Truer words have never been spoken i wish all bands were this way. Thats the thing that turns me off about all the newer music, most of it is all the same its all what the media says is good dry.gif , Which in my case isnt good.

And I most likely will buy an album of thiers if the rest of their songs are like "Bullet" I'm Sold biggrin.gif

I've been listening to the album for the last day or so and I'm very pleased with it....just might have to do a review smile.gif Some of the songs are a bit more crunchy but still have that old school vibe to them. But the last song on the album " Can't keep no Good boy down" is an acoustic song which you just amazing. I think you'd be happy if you enjoyed the links.

You won't get a lot of interest on this site, this is the type of music most people like. I preferred the first band, one Zep was enough for me. College kids over the weekend were playing Zep at a party across the alley. Still popular.

You like this band? I know they are pretty popular, but I really like them, great songs, sound, and charismatic band members. Maybe being from Las Vegas can be called southern, it is sound of Utah after all.

I do like the Killers although I don't listen to them very often. But they do have some really great music. Read My Mind is probably my favorite by them as well.

I can't stand Led Zeppelin but I do like Black Stone Cherry and have seen them live a few times. You might like a band called The Answer also if you check them out.

Don't like the second band as they are too much like Led Zeppelin and I hate Led Zeppelin sad.gif

OC, not sure but do you hate Led Zeppelin? wink.gif biggrin.gif

I'm just kidding with you of course, but yeah I wasn't sure how some would respond to The Parlor Mob. I know there are many people who look at them as a Led Zeppelin knock off and others, like myself, think they are original just heavily influenced. To each their own I guess. But I do agree, if your not a LZ fan you probably wouldn't like The Parlor Mob.

I'll check out The Answer though. Thanks for the suggestion.

The Answer cover Sweet Emotion and do it justice for sure. I dislike Led Zep. I much prefer Deep Purple from that era of music smile.gif
