Here's a new version. Now the first part sounds fuller. I changed the configuration of the filter and the amps on the heavy part, but it still isn't as good as the guitar in FrontlineGuitar's video.

I'm not satisfied with balacing the volume channels but I can't listen to this anymore right now, my ears are bleeding!
Too much is too much I guess.
I guess everything could have be recorded and mixed a whole lot better.

Wow D-Man, I am really digging this piece smile.gif Especially the first 1.19 mins, until the heavy bit. I would have liked that part to last longer, another minute or two maybe. I wanted to ask the following: there is a piano section between 0:17 and 0:32 seconds. Could you maybe try to increase the volume of the piano there a bit so it is in front of the drums ? Just a general listener's suggestion smile.gif Otherwise, wow hehe big fan here ! smile.gif

Thanks so much man! smile.gif You are right, the piano definitely needed a boost, but I didn't have the nerve to do it yesterday biggrin.gif
I fixed the volume levels so here's the YouTube version.

I might post a play-through of the song because it's much more interesting to watch that way... We'll see smile.gif Thanks all for great feedback on this one! laugh.gif

Oh yes this turned out quite a piece ! And like I said in previous post that it's really nice to hear different music from GMC:er wink.gif

Although I was expecting more mixing to the drums and (as a DfH user I notice almost all of those drum fills 'cos I have used them too biggrin.gif ).

But hey how do you compose those solos ? They're quite amazing !

Do you just play what comes into mind or plan before hand what to play ?

Glad you liked it mate! biggrin.gif I wanted this to be longer too but for the first song I thought to keep it simple® biggrin.gif But in the future I will make something longer wink.gif

Haha, yes Drums from Hell are overused but they sound so sweet biggrin.gif And I did modify a number of them to fit the song smile.gif
About the solos - well the basic ideas usually come from my improvisations and messing with the guitar but after I get a solid idea I plan the rest to be fitting! There really isn't a concrete formula in my solos, sometimes I play what I think sounds right with the BT and sometimes I deliberately want to use a specific scale/technique and then play in that direction. smile.gif

Yay! biggrin.gif Now for the next one, which I'll start after the exams. It will surely be a lot different than this one, I want to explore different areas of music with each new song smile.gif Stay tuned biggrin.gif
