Hello to everyone at GMC!

My name is Chris...I am an 18-year old small town musician in the US. I have been drumming for 6 and a half years, and playing guitar for 3 and half years, although with guitar...it was more on and off, since I was in a band and was a drummer. I've done a few recordings, played with a few bands (drums and guitar, mostly lead) and wrote a few songs, but now, I've decided to finally get serious...and seriously checked out this site before joining. I LOVE IT!

At age 11 or 12, I started drumming for the first time in the school band. Increasingly, I began to love guitar, it was so great. Then my grandfather gave me one of his 1999 Epiphone Custom acoustics, which I played my first G, C, and Em chords on. I learned everything I knew on this guitar, before a friend of mine used her big butt and sat on it, broke the headstock sad.gif. I then bought a Fender DG acoustic electric with a small Crate practice amp ever since. Now, I wish to purchase an electric, but alas, I have no money sad.gif.

My playing style is HEAVILY influenced by the blues: BB King...Muddy Waters...Eric Clapton...and so forth. But being a musician, I listen to EVERYTHING...and have achieved a variety of styles, but mostly blues, rock, metal, funk, etc.

I have recently started into the progressive/neoclassical genre, and I am amazed and astounded by what you guitarists/instructors can do on this site. It's so amazing how fast people like Malmsteen and Petrucci can play. I love it.

Well, that's my story. I'm going to start shredding some serious metal-blues. Peace everyone! smile.gif
