Oh of course, how could I forget that! Well, I'm a beginner, but I do like to play heavy metal like Megadeth, and softer stuff such as Judas Priest, AC/DC and so forth.

Hi, I've been thinking of getting a new guitar for a little while now, I currenlty have a Squier Showmaster. Anyways, since I have no experience with other guitars, and no knowledge about what's good and what's not, I need help from you guys to choose my new guitar. I've been looking around for a used one, and I found a nice web shop where they sell some cheap Dean and ESP/LTD guitars. I've found a few fitting my price range (~500$): ESP LTD EX50 - 500$ Ibanez SA260FM (Used) - 533$ Dean ZX Classic - 479$ LTD AX-50 - 540$ LTD Viper-50 - 548$ Are those good? Or more importantly, better than my Squier? And do any of you guys have any bad or good experience with them? Thanks for replies in advance! Are you kidding? A LTD Viper 50 for $500??? Same with the other 50's, they are the low end LTD and cost nothing. The SA260 you also listed at twice it's price, the Dean I don't know. So I have to ask. Is this a bad joke on your side? if not you're being ripped off. -------------------- My bands homepage

Anything is better than a Squier but be careful with those prices.

MickeM: No, this is not a bad joke. Also, guitars and alot of other stuff is very expensive here in Norway, compared to America for example. A Gibson Les Paul Studio is going for 1874$ new. I was stupid to assume sice you wrote $ you were in the US or Canada and your "location" (personal information)) said nothing. Then I understand, we have the same prices here. if you have an option to get a guitar from germany (mail order) you could save a buck. www.musicstore.de or www.thomann.de are both popular sites. Okay, alot of links coming up: Now, if anyone would go through at least some of the links and filter out the worst guitars, maybe point out some of the best, it'd be great! I will be going to bed now, so I won't be around for a while. Thank you! Anything goes. Just think about that if you plan on playing sitting down, which I think most of us do when noodling around at home, the V shaped guitar is difficult since you can't rest it on your lap. -------------------- My bands homepage

Anything goes. Just think about that if you plan on playing sitting down, which I think most of us do when noodling around at home, the V shaped guitar is difficult since you can't rest it on your lap. i have a V and its the most comfortable guitar to sit and stand. First few days were really hard to play, not it mor comfy than my friend fender or ibanez. You have to put part of the V between your legs. Its really easy to stand and play. Note: Dont ever think of buying a warlock OR ANY b.C. RICH GUITAR. They just look good but have sh*t sound (even the signature). ESP guitars are good, also consider an ibanez (maybe RG370DX, pavel had it so he can fill in some of your doubts). Okay, I'm completely lost, I have a huge bunch of guitars I'm considering and I have no idea what's good and what's not. So "I'm" doing this differently. If anyone, ANYONE, would please take the time to go through http://www.musicstore.de or http://www.thomann.de, find a guitar for about 300-400 euro that's good for playing metal, rock and such, and report back here with a link to that, or those guitar(s), I'd be very thankful.
