Well, a good KLON overdrive can set you back SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS. Yup. So can your ears tell the difference? Or is it all just boutique snake oil? Some folks swear by these pedals. Some folks say it's pure snake oil. Can you tell the difference?

I couldn't tell the differences.
But here's the thing 1) even with headphones - the fidelity isn't great via the internet. 2) I can't 'feel' the response and 3) just hitting some gained out A chords and a few blues licks doesn't go very far in revealing anything about either a pedal, an amp, a guitar or even a player. So ...
I would never spend 7 grand on any pedal, amp or guitar except for maybe (big maybe) on a vintage Gibson LP or archtop or a really nice classical guitar. But I doubt that will ever happen. What I will do though is sell my stuff for really over inflated prices biggrin.gif

As for Klon clones, my choice is the Wampler 'Tumnus' mini pedal.
