Problem With Sweeping Arpeggio

I'm studying THIS lesson right now and while, with some practice, I can nearly play every passage, I'm having some problem with the sweeping Em arpeggio. Really don't know how to approach it, because strings keep vibrating when I release them, and the sound is very noisy. Any suggestions? Thank you very much. I also think that using distortion to practice with is ok too though, as long as it isn't overkill In your example, the ascending part is smoother than the descending part. I hear some hesitation when you're coming back down from the E string to the B string.. if you could make that part more even and the same timing as the rest of it you'll be there !
