Fretboard Inlay

Hello,

I love the fretboard inlay of guitars like the Ibanez JEM and I hate the dots on my Yamaha fretboard biggrin.gif So I want to change this, are there kind of stickers to "decorate" the fretboard? If not, I'll have to do it on my own. Can I simply use woodcolors or will this do harm on my guitar?
