When recording for video collab,I want to use my amp.Often I need to send file of my solo without backing track.I have a MacBook,Reaper and separate video recorder. Is the easiest way to provide all 3 files( vid, solo with backtrack, solo without backtrack ) to film solo while listening on headphones to backing track,ie not filming audio of backing track then in iMovie trying to add backing track as separate audio.Hope this makes Fire up reaper import backing track onto a track of its own (say track 1) Create a new audio track (say track 2) * mic up your cab - set the levels (for track 2) note: you might want to put your mic'd cab in another room Get your video recorder set-up put on your headphones hit record on your video-camera arm track 2 - hit record play to your backing track while recording to track 2 rinse and repeat. *note - I've seen some people record the audio without the video camera, until they get the right take, then play back the track while recording the video and playing "air guitar" basically. Whatever floats your boat. I'm more inclined to endure the pressure of getting it right on camera lastly - use video editing software and import your tracks and sync them up with the video. I'm sure one of the instructors can point you in the right direction on specifically how to do that. Good luck! -------------------- The more I practice, the more I wish I had time to practice!

Thanks Sir.Is "Rince and repeat" if 1st take no good. yes, that is correct. Actually what I do is in Cubase (or Reaper) is set my hot track (track 2) to stacking, then set up the loop indicators to repeat and I'll take up to 4 tries in a single session. Upside is you're warmed up by the second/third takes. Downside is you have sync the video to the right take -------------------- The more I practice, the more I wish I had time to practice!
