You can check out Children Of Bodom songs from Something Wild, Are you dead yet? and Bloodrunk. These 3 albums has the guitars tuned in Drop C. You'll find a lot of cool stuff

if I recall, Strapping young lad uses drop C at least in some songs. Try Wrongside, it has lots of sweeping.

Strapping young lad (devin townsend) uses Open C tuning - GCGCGCE so thats a nono
On the other hand Kris Norris from Darkest hour is hell of a sweeper, so check them out. Songs like Demons, An Ethereal drain and Doomsayer all have wonderful sweeppicking passages -------------------- my youtube account with riffs and ideas: https://www.youtube.com/user/Phoenygzus

Yea, just dont check that new album (Eternal return) cos Kris has left the band and the new guitarguy just... is not that good. Kris is one of the best melodic shredders from the young generation (IMO)

How about a smaller signature my friend? I was totally going to request that the moderation team send a polite little PM about that.. then I realized I could just adblock his signature and never see it again. Back on topic: GMC has a few lessons for sweeping that should provide some good practical arpeggios. EDIT: someone failed to paste a link. That someone's name rhymes with "Hraafopatrick" https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guit...weep-arpeggios/ Not in drop C but the arpeggios will remain intact if you're only dropping the bass string to C. If you're lowering all.. well, the relationships are still the same. This post has been edited by jafomatic: Nov 9 2009, 06:11 PM -------------------- ::jafomatic

Try Killswitch engaged. IMO one of the best riff writers in metal.
