Not much, $200 I guess Do you wish for an effects processor or would you be up for raising the budget a bit and get something like this? It's the tube feel in a small package, great price and quality No mumbo jumbo effects and all that - just raw tone! http://www.thomann.de/gb/amt_ss20.htm |

The blond amp is a Weber 6A20HP kit I built, though I've tweaked the circuit to maximise gain. It's running a pair of 6L6WGB, put's out about 40 watts clean and nearly 70W overdriven. After it killed the Weber 12F150 (my favourite speaker), I left the speaker out of the combo cab and am using an external cab. This is loaded with my Fluxtone Model 10 http://www.fluxtone-speakers.com/Home_Page.html which I'm really pleased with (the Fluxtone system allows the speaker volume to be turned down to quiet levels, without affecting the interaction between speaker and amp). The cab has a Mitchell donut foam insert in front of the speaker, to stop the high frequencies being too 'beamy', see http://www.tgpwebzine.com/?page_id=443 The guitar is my 2010 Les Paul R8, which is absolutely fantastic - everything about it is 'right', it was set up really well out of the box. It's the only guitar I've not had to mess with to get the action and electrics sorted. Out of the picture, the pedals are a Cry Baby, Boss TU2 tuner, Tube Screamer, Home Made Germanium Booster and a home made A/B Box to select which channel is in use. Pete |

Yeah I did and man, if you ever plan on selling it, tell me first Don't think so man, but seriously now, try to get a new one and you will have a worthy tool to work with at a reasonable price for what it can do. It's not a story I was expecting but still a cool story. It really does look like a burn marking from the picture. How does the sound compare between the two amps? It is cleaner and fatter then the later Deluxe. Not better or worse, just different. -------------------- company contact

Lately I"ve added TUBE SOUND, via the S-Gear Plugin from Scuffham Amps.
I reviewed the plugin with samples here. https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...st&p=649681 I'm also still really digging OVERLOUD TH2. The quality of these plugins is such that I don't use a physical amp to record with anymore as it's such a dip in quality by the time the tone gets in to the computer. I still think it's worth learning to record using an amp and SM57 or what not. It's just that practical day to day for the home recordist. Thanks to technology! Todd That's fine rig to be sure Really it's 100 rigs in one box paired with an amazing guitar. Ibanez RGA121 Prestige AxeFX II Simple, classy, metal. \m/ |
