Drums/patience Options

So i've recently came to the realization that programming drums is not my thing.. i have a million ideas in my brain and can never actually get them down due to the fact that i can't get a hang of the drum programs and don't really have much knowledge of what goes with what in time, the guitar riffs and stuff i can play but the drums just never seem to match!! ahhhh help lol

Buy something like an MPD or a Korg Nanopad I believe it's called and play out the beats with the finger pads and then quantisize afterwards if you feel its necessary.

Did you ever get hold of some drum software ?

I'm pretty sure there's software (EZ Drummer ?) that comes with a library of beats which you can insert into your track. Not just naive, rubbish beats but really cool ones. Not only can you use a lot of those beats but you could also see how they work in the drum editor and then that will help you understand how/what/where etc.

Can anyone confirm this ??

Yeah, they also sell MIDI packages with all kind of drum beats which i think you could use without EZ Drummer (although they are made for it, so they might not sound as great)

Get a drum pad, some sticks, and learn from these two sources:

I use both of those and you should be able to get the hang of everything relatively quickly.

Also, I recommend Danny Carey(He is the drummer for Tool) signature Vic Firth sticks. Nothing else really compares to them.

2.)So does BFD ECO.
3.)You can buy CDs with drum tracks (.wav .aif)ready for import in to a daw.
4.)You can buy midi packs from toon track that are just drum patterns.
5.)Some artists will sell you their drum patterns. For Example, I bought Ola Englunds REFEARED which comes with a download of all his drum tracks used on his record! So I made this song using his drums

I solve this in two ways,,, using EZdrummer grooves as a starting point to create my own rhythms and also I use midi files from my favourite bands/songs to borrow the drums and use some parts to then edit them to fit in my compositions. You don't have to know how to play drums to do this... there are lots of midi files and guitar pro that has great drum tracks that you can use and edit.
