Great thread idea smile.gif My fav piece of kit remains the vintage DIGITECH GNX3. These still sound great and can be had for a song these days on ebay and such. The "Expression Pedal" serves as a Volume/Wah which I've never used for some reason. I went to look at wah pedals the other day and realized I actually had one built in. Duh! I use my GNX3 on a studio mount to make it easier to get to the parameters but keeping it off the floor removes the ability to use the wah! So I"m going to put it back on the ground and use the wah wah effect.

I like my Pod X3 Live! smile.gif but I also like the Boss GT-8. Jonnathan Burgos brings it usually to my studio and it seems to be a really good processor. I noticed (there is a video at youtube) that Nuno Bettencourt is using it in his tour with Rihanna as a guitar processor.

That's hard to say. I'm still wanting to experiment with gear. I only have a Tube Screamer and Boss ME 20. I mostly use POD Farm for everything though. Don't really have an answer for ya.

I think my quest for this began when one day I looked down at the floor and saw a whole bunch of stomp boxes and a tangled mess of cables. Multi-effects units did solve that problem. I had a very early Boss ME5 and then got into the Pods a few years later. My fav so far has been the HD500. Would love to be able to experiment with the TC Electronic stuff as well as the AxeFs. But having no more mess on the floor, user presets, and easy access to just about every effect known to man with good tone in the HD500 is pretty close to nirvana for me.

Eventide Eclipse.

Guitarwise I'd argue with the exception of the Eventide h3000 that the Eclipse has the best time effects and harmoniser going. Interface wise it is also one of the few that offers proper pro end connections for studio use. Here's an old review from Sound on Sound.

Oh and ten years on the Eclipse has just been updated to v4. Sound on Sound's August 2011 summary of the new V4:

'...The Eclipse is [still] an excellent multi‑effects unit with superb treatments, sophisticated flexibility, and lots of guitarist‑friendly features.'

Agree. Now I have three stomps, the Timefactor, Pitchfactor, and Modfactor. They are really petty unique stuff, to Eventide, and top notch. Expensive though.

I did get the TC Electronic Hall of Fame which lets you download customized patches by artists. It is nice, $150. Eventide has a reverb stomp now called Space, but it is $500.

I have a new Digitech RP 1000 on order and should get it this week. I also ordered a Tech 21 Sound Engine 60 powered speaker cab to go with the Digitech processor. Anyway, I cant wait to try it out. I did lots of research and saw all the demos on youtube. It came down to the Digitech and the Boss GT 10. The Digitech was 100 U.S. dollars less and seemed to match up well with the Boss. This video sold me on the Digitech....

For me, there are two devices I tried, that are really great. One I own, it's TC Nova System. It's a multiFX unit with analog overdrive (no emulations of amps, cabs etc), and it does the job very well.

Other one is Roland V88. It's an older processor, but it's excellent. Still on the high price here locally, and I understand why - it's very rich, and offers sound that is cutting nicely.

I own a POD X3, PocketPOD, POD Studio GX, Pandora PX5D, and tried some Zoom pedals... and I find that they all have far too many steps to configure the settings...

That's why I love my ME-70, because it's really simple to use, like a bunch of stomps. (BUT it can't record via USB, hence the need for the X3).

Sure why not! smile.gif It does the same thing as a floor device. With controller it turns into a floor device anyway. So, software emulators are of course included, most of them make great tones today! smile.gif
