Hi, I have an old 1983 fender squier JV, it plays beautifully but I find it has pretty bad static/buzzing all the time if I'm not touching a string, maybe it's not grounded properly? I don't use an amp, just headphones and my pod xt live.
I'm going to take it in to a tech soon, just wondering people's thoughts, if I play with input it doesn't make a difference so I'm pretty sure there's probably a grounding issue since once I touch a string the buzzing is virtually completely eliminated. Also this sound persists regardless of pickup selection, I do find it is louder when I have distortion on.

Thanks for any advice/feedback in advance smile.gif

Sounds like a grounding problem to me, check if the bridge is really grounded
