Hi Guys,

I am currently looking around to get myself a new guitar and I am leaning towards a Gibson Les Paul, but I would like a bit more versatility if possible.

I came across a 1999 Brian Moore DC-1 guitar (without the piezo or midi) with Seymour Duncan P-Rail pickups in it. It seems to be in good condition and I can buy it for about 1250 euro's.

Here is a piece of text on the guitar specs:

QUOTE
The DC/1 was created to meet the demands of players who prefer the 24 3/4" scale. It is a joint design effort between Master Luthier Tom Doyle and Patrick Cummings. Patrick met Tom Doyle in 1996 at a Scott Chinery "Blue Guitar" event and asked Tom if he would like to create a guitar that blended the some of Toms' designs with the our unique ideas such as "comfort contoured top" and "sculpted headstock". Tom is the chosen luthier and long time sound engineer for the legendary Les Paul himself. His 40 plus years in the music industry have been spent on a quest for the perfect tone. His clients and friends include Al Dimeola, George Benson, Sting and Jimmy Page. We are proud to have Tom and his influence on our team.

DC/1 Feature

  • Single cutaway design
  • Mahogany body with highly figured top
  • Available in transparent colors and bursts
  • Seymour Duncan pickups
  • Versatile hum/hum configuration
  • Mahogany set neck w/rosewood fingerboard
  • 22 fret, set neck, 24 3/4" scale, 12" radius
  • Sperzel tuners, Tun-o-matic bridge
  • Gold hardware
  • RMC Piezo option available
  • RMC 13 Pin option available
  • BMCG sculpted headstock
  • Comfort Contoured body
  • Innovative output jack

And a pic:

I don't have any experience with Brian Moore guitars, so any comments whether this would be a good deal to do (money-wise) and whether the guitar is high quality or not.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Roger

ps: Maybe some of you noticed that I am completely silent on the forums currently, which is due to the fact that my work is swallowing most of my time and the remainder is completely spent on getting a very large setlist in my memory for the new band I am playing in smile.gif. Hopefully I will be back and active soonish smile.gif.
