A system where by gear articles get up to 5 points and band articles could get up to 10 points I think would have been more appropiate. Because there is no point writing a load for gear article as much as you would for a band but a band article is usually way over twice the size of a gear article. But I'm not sure what Andrew thinks. I don't want to stop doing Band articles but they do take a very long time if they are to be of super high quality.

I don't agree - a good gear article is just as useful as a good band article, and just as hard to write well - length alone is not a determiner of quality, but content is - thats why your articles rate so highly because although they ARE long, its because they have a lot of facts in them, not because you cut and pasted a list of songs and concert dates.

We are trying to encourage all types of Wiki entries here, so giving preferential tratement to specific types won't help that ...

Ok, I will keep doing my best to be fair - but we are all learning as we go along with this type of thing!

I will also continue to write band articles and I will keep up the length and quality, my next two will be Ozzy Osbourne and Blackk Sabbath.

why not count a win according to the average ratings of the contesters articles?
ONE good, long and accurative article will be better than 5 weak, short and inaccurate articles.
