I'm curious to know if anyone here is a fan of Journey, particularly Neal Schon who I think is a amazing guitar player? And the singer Steve Perry I think had one of the best rock guitar voices out there.

I have never paid attention to him, I know some Journey songs but never investigated about them. His playing on this cover is so nice, great tone and SO tasty playing. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah man, I grew up with the Infinity and Evolution albums. I still listen to them.
They also nailed it live every time. Great players all of them.

When I was in high school the band I was in played 'Lights' from Infinity record.

Journey rocks! smile.gif I grew up with these guys too and Neal Schon was a major influence on my early guitar playing and probably still is to this day. He is a master of the melody with tons of great signature solos throughout his career. He is a go to guy when I need some inspiration and I still love to listen to all their old records because they are so very uplifting and inspirational to me.
Here is a tune from my high school days. smile.gif

Oh Yeah, this is one of the best solo albums he ever did, in my opinion. I just love his playing!

Everytime I'm flying at night back to San Francisco I mentally hear his song, "Lights" in my head when I see the city out my window.

Me too, even though I don't live in SF.
You reside in a great town! Arguably the nicest city in Cali.

I haven't listened to that much Journey, to be honest, but Neil's solo works are very much to my liking - he's the kind of melodic player, the kind I strive to be as well smile.gif
