Lil' Question About Hoarse Singing

Hi there! smile.gif

I know this is not the singing forum but I would like to know everybody's opinion on that. biggrin.gif Is it possible to "learn" hoarse singing even if you don't have a natural "throaty" voice? I would love to sing some songs in the style of Rise Against, and to sound a bit like the singer, but I wanted to ask first.
