Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Chord Melody Technique by Diego Budicin

To me, this was way above a level 3. But then again, probably just a sign I need to work on it.

Hi mate!

I can notice that you've done a hard work with this one. It's not an easy lesson, I also think that the level thing should be adjusted on this one. But your work here is great.

Except by some moments where the change is not totally smooth I think that there is nothing to fix here. The more you play these shapes, the more familiar you'll be and it will sound great as soon as this becomes a second nature.

I would keep these in your diary practice, while working on variations, and new shapes.

Congrats!

Nice! To me this sounds good-

I can hear more definition in Diego's take. When he arpeggiates a chord with his fingers (ie around 00:18) - it seems he is a bit more careful with dynamics - so that he brings out the top note to better separate the melody from harmony.

To my ears you are pretty close though - so I will give you an 8.

Hey there!

My general observations is exactly same as Gabriels. I can't spot anything precise to fix / any kind of obvious issue. It's just a lack of precision that would come with even more practise. I'm sure that pressing the REC button also does some bad job and makes you little tensted. That's why some of position shifts do not go so smooth and why the strength of fingerpicking is weaker at some notes. I think you can play a few more days, than take a deep breath and record again. I'm sure it would then sound perfect. As for the tone it's a little darker than original but still a good fit for this lesson. Well done.
