Hey Emir,

This doesn't sound that bad. Your timing needs to be much more accurate. Audio file is ok but we really need to see the video. This is about the technique not the composition. I really need to see your hands so I can give you a proper comment. Can you find a way to film this and try to fix the timing? From what I can hear you're on a good way but you need more practice for this one. Please post the video when you can so we can move on to the next one.

well if you cant find something just ask your wife Either she now where you put it or she had put it away. Very true It hapens to me all the time. This video is now a different story. The take is good. You're separating those notes pretty good, I can hear the triplet feel. Still some of them are not very precise but it is good that you didn't stop and broke the flow. Here is the tip. You seem to be struggling with a longer stretch. That's noticeable on the last two shapes. Put your thumb on the middle of the neck so your left hand fingers will point more to the top instead of 45 degree angle. That should help. Well done for this one. The next assignment is next Sunday. Please prepare this same exercise in 155bpm plus the one from the second video in 130bpm. If you spend half an hour a day for this I am sure you'll be fine. -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile

The first one was quite ok. The second needs more work. You are constantly late a whole beat from the backing track.
You didn't follow my tip about the thumb. Read the previous post. I advised you to put the thumb on the middle of the neck. This way your left hand is in a very difficult position and you can't stretch fingers because of that. Also you can sit down instead of standing, that will be easier as well. Another tip which helps me is to take bar chords on every possible position. Check my video of this (the 2nd one) and see how I play it. You are removing fingers after you play the note. You don't need to do that too much when playing 3 notes sweep. Just mute with right hand and it will be ok. Let say that I am happy with the effort but not with overall take. This stuff needs practicing. I will let you pass this one and do both takes in 155bpm for the next Sunday as our 3rd assignment. The synchonizing problem could be my poor editing skills, i will check that in the original video i recorded. No, I heard it without looking at the video unless you recorded 2 separate tracks, backing on one and the guitar on the other. This didn't happen on the 2 string sweeps so I guess your playing was the problem. QUOTE For the thumb thing i thought you meant it for the stretched positions and i tried to do so, but sometimes i "forget" it, mostly at higher tempo. But i will try to work on that, too. This will surely help you. When going for faster stuff forget blues hand position. We're not bending anything here Put your thumb on the middle and you'll save so much time. QUOTE And i thought it would be essential for clean sweeping to remove to fingers to stop the string from swinging after it was played. But i will try to do it as you said. This is true for 4 or more string sweeping. For this particular one you can take a bar shape and mute with the right hand. The choice is yours but I think this is easier and still sounds acceptable. -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile

I did record 2 tracks. Normaly i would use the audio from the camera as help to synchronize them and mix it with the recorded track from the zoom input for the video so i would have "playing noise" and "sound". This time i screwed something up, there was no sound recorded on the camera so i had to synchronize it by hand and since my playing was so bad i couldnt get it right. Ok then just make sure that I hear you playing on the right beat -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile

This wasn't bad at all. I know there is still room for imptovement but really getting better. On 3 string arpeggio your pull off is very weak. Looks like you're not pulling off the note but just taking the finger off the fretboard. You need to pull it off almost like with the pick. On diminished arpeggio you can use 3rd finger on the 3rd string, that might be easier than to play with pinky. Just a suggestion.
On 2 string arpeggio your picking hand is making circular movements. I don't know if that's easier for you but you should be moving just up and down, not in circles. I just find it strange but if you feel easier like that then leave it. Let's do the last exam for this month. The deadline is by the end of the month. We need both of these in full speed Do your best and don't get scared. I am sure you can do it. After that we'll take the next step in January which is arpeggios on all 6 strings. When we master that we can do some different stuff that other guys are doing. Also don't forget the REC take of any GMC lesson by the end of the month, that's another GMC requirement. When you upload on the REC thread please leave the link here as well. Cheers. -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile
