I've been reading your blog Andrew, how are things going with that project? Yes please Thanks for your interest guys I have put a metal grill on the back and have spent the last week or so experimenting with tone (since I am completely new to tube amps). The SM57 is great for micing just as everyone said it would be - its amazing how much variation you can get by moving the mic just an inch or two. I am still trying to nail a hi gain sound - experimenting with pedals to boost the sound. Getting some good results but I'm not 100% happy yet. Also experimenting with a clean sound - this amp is not ideal for clean, but I am thinking of a mod to increase the clean headroom and make it switchable which should help. I'm just about ready to send the faceplate off for etching, haven;t done that quite yet, then I am also thinking about adding an additional preamp stage or two for extra gain, and also having thoughts about the A.C.2 - now I have some experience I think I will make this a Head & Cab. For the A.C.2 I will likely build a more advanced and probably less developed design, so I will be drilling my owwn chassis and sourcing my own components I think, but that is still a while away - just noodling over the specs I want att the moment, thinking about a killer clean channel and a decent HiGain, and Blues crunch channel too - very ambitious, but we'll see. -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile

Let us GMC'ers know befor it hits the market. I'd like a signed model! We should get first dibs, right? Of course! But the A.C. series will never be a high volume production item - I will be selling them for about $25,000 ech of course .... -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile
