I use Sonar 7. Many people here use Cubase, Nuendo or Reaper. Doesn't really matter what you use, they all do the same job. EZ drummer is good for drums. I use Bandstand, Hypersonic 2 and Cakewalk TTS-1 for all my sounds. All these are just General Midi (GM) sounds and have everything I need. Strings, bass, drums, full orchestra and anything you can think of.

I use Nuendo as a sequencer and these VSTi: EZdrummer, Edirol Hyper Canvas and Edirol Orquestal.
I also use Reason (conected with Nuendo by Rewire) for some instruments like Bass, Keyboards, Piano and Synths. -------------------- My lessons

DAW: nuendo 3
drums, rhythm: Superior Drummer 2, Stylus RMX, EZD bass: Trilogy, Virtual Bassist pads: Atmosphere piano: Grand 2 organ: B4 strings & brass: Orchestral, Bandstand Some of these were cheap and some are a bit pricey. I think Virtual Bassist/bandstand combo can give good results for a tight budget. Instruments are just 30% of the job. Rest is producing the sound right. You need to use good FX plugs for mixing&mastering. This way you make recordings come alive. Good plugs are various Waves bundles, T-Rex plugs, or hardware accelerated ones, like UAD. -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE
