I like Dragonforce.. but sometimes i have problems differentiating between their songs.. and this is one of them sad.gif

That's the problem with DragonForce, I like them, they are a good band but they don't know how to be original and abuse their speed skills alot, this new video shows something a bit new but it's still not there yet...

Everything Dragonforce is meant to be cheesy. Their is no need to bash the album art, the album title, or the lyrics, because they laugh at it themselves and even joke about how they screw up live, for them, it is just about the enjoyment of the music, and that is how it should be.

Don't get me wrong I think Dragonforces first two albums were great. On Inhuman Rampage though pretty much every song sounded the same and had exactly the same structure. This was twinned with them not being able to play it live. They go around with a "we are amazing and don't need to practise" attitude. If they don't care about creating a good show live then I don't care about them. I don't care about their lyrics, never have. But the new album name and artwork is just beyond embarrassing. Dragonforce are getting stuck behind their gimmicks and are moving further and further away from the good band they once were.

Really looking forward to trying out the Ibanez e-gen, the specs are amazing!
I quite like Dragonforce in small doses but imo this song does sound a lot like their other stuff.

If they just could think of something new.. Like playing more slow songs.
An example: Sonata Arctica's guitarists, former Jani, and now Elias Viljanen.. Both of them could reach amazing speeds if they wanted to, but they had no problem playing slow songs. In fact, I love their slower songs more than the fast ones, because I can feel their emotions <3

I used to really love Dragonforce the first times I heard Through Fire and Flames, but now as I've seen that they only care about speed, and all the millions of 10 year old leet-kiddies that love them (which makes me worried about the next generation guitarists :S ), I can't say that I'm a fan.
I still like some of their songs though, like Trail of Broken Hearts, because it's one of their slower ones.

I really love both Herman's and... That other guy's guitars, though tongue.gif

I still think their great solo composers... but other than that... the guitars sound fake, too much effects make it sound like midi, and is actualy easier to play than you think, becuase some of their effect make a sound appear just as you touch the strings.. I think it was an effect that has something to do with midi.

On the song as a whole, sound similar to their other songs, even the solo sometimes resembles to the solo from Through The Fire And The Flames.

Well said indeed. I've learnt and can play up to speed on some of the solo to Through the Fire and Flames and I've only been playing guitar since January of this year.

DragonForce is a fantasy/power metal band with lyrics based on hope. If you read the lyrics, it's all about trying to defeat evil and how you're a hero whose been beaten down but manages to save the day type of thing. It may be an acquired taste, but I really love the lyrics. Sure it's nice to have lyrics like Fade to Black and The Unforgiven II, but it's also kinda cool to listen to "happy metal" lyrics.

Please do biggrin.gif It would be sweet to know how to do the whole pull the guitar up with the string that Herman does. I've had it explained to me a few times but it would still be cool to see.

ohmy.gif This is the first time that I pay attention to this band. They have nice vocal melodies and insane but too long solos. It would be ok for me if the solo would last a half. The most amazing thing is the way they use the tapping. I think that Lian could do a lesson in the style of Dragonforce. smile.gif
Thanks for sharing. wink.gif

Are all their songs as fast like this one? I mean do they compose complete albums
with the same tempo ohmy.gif ?
