Economy or sweep picking would be if you did UP STROKE twice (once on E once on B string). Then you can do two different types of alternate picking approaches. Start with down stroke on E and end on up stroke on B string , and reversed way (up stroke on E , down stroke on B string). You can do it with upstroke on high E and then downstroke on B.
