Take 2: Double Stop Soul II, Lesson By Javier Aviles |
|
Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.
The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi Vinman! Thanks for this new take.
Your tuning is much better now, but there is still a little issue with it, maybe you have old strings or your guitar need some adjustment? However now it start to sound good. Your tone could be also adjusted a bit. Check the original lesson, the presence and definition are awesome. It would be useful to dedicate some time to adjust your EQ and maybe try different pick ups combinations to get a closer tone. About your playing, I think that you have a good sense of timing on this one and that the problem is mostly when you have to play some slides, hammer on and pull ofs in the double stop licks. You need to focus on them, to make the notes sound clear and defined. This is fundamental to make the double stops sound good. It requires some extra effort of your left hand fingers since when you tap (hammer) and pull the notes. So keep on practicing this one focusing on tone and definition of each lick. Focus on details but be sure that this is a very good take. Keep on the good job. -------------------- My lessons
