Yup. It's already started. As you know, Gibson bought Mesa. After all, Randall Smith (yes that RANDALL) who is the big designer at Mesa is 75 and has no sons. If something were to happen to him, he wasn't sure how things would go. So, he sold it to Gibson who have been around a while and have an interest in amps. True, Gibson has had it's problems. They got a new CEO for 2019 and started to try to turn things around. Still, the sad truth is that "PRE GIBSON MESA" is now a thing that people are using to sell amps. This is going to make pre gib mesas more expensive on the used market and cannibalize new mesa amps sales IMHO. This despite the fact that Mesa swear up and down that nothing is going to change. Folks don't seem to trust Gibson. What did Gibson do to deserve this level of mistrust? They do still make the Les Paul after all?

Here is a recent advert where a guy is already using the "pre gib" line on his amp for sale. It's a Bass amp though.

BTW if you want to try a MESA Amp on your mobile device (Android and IOS), Mesa teamed up with IK Multimedia to make official versions of their amps that work inside the mobile version of amplitube a while back. I bought this pack and have loved it ever since. Turns your mobile device in to an entire rig that sounds shockingly good imho. It's a phone and not a tube amp though. So it's wads cheaper and is just an emulation. As always most of the tone will come from your fingers smile.gif

Awesome!
I have a very pre-Gibson Boogie. Maybe it's time to make some money.

Interesting! I've already sold my pre gibson Mesa Dual Rectifier some time ago. I've never used it again when I got a Fractal Ax8.

It's going to get more and more valuable as time goes on evidently. The longer Gibson holds Mesa, the more "Pre Gib Mesas' are going to be worth. The vendors who sell new mesas are already screaming foul from the rooftops. The used market for pre gib stuff is only just starting to heat up. I can hardcore mesa cork sniffers paying crazy prices once the used market for pre gib stuff heats up.

I made the switch after my first version of Overloud way back. Never owned a real mesa though. I did keep my guitar cab, but I don't use it much ever since TH2 came out and it sounds better than my cab and mics. smile.gif
