Just need to vent....
OK, get this, I was out hanging out with my friends till about 11:30. We decide to call it a night, and I drive home, I have to use the bathroom real bad, I live in a town house so my parking stall is kinda far away, so I park in the guest parking at my house because it's right in front of my door, this was at 11:55 or so, and there is no parking in guest stalls after midnight. I go in do my business, go outside at like 12:10, and my car is gone. Now I know it was parked there beyond the time limit, but come on!! It was 15 min!! I wasn't hurting anybody!! They just gave me a 300$ speeding ticket for going 58mph in a 55mph zone. GHEY!!!

Aww f@#$ my life.

Thanks man, the thing that kills me is that someone must have been hiding out there staring at their watch just waiting to ruin my day, And I'm going to miss French and Anthropology tomorrow. *sigh* rolleyes.gif

That's just beyond annoying. And 300$ for 3mph too fast, that would seem rather harsh. I don't think it's anywhere near that around here. blink.gif

Sucks with tickets like that, for wrong parking for 10 minutes. I think they were not too nice about that, could have let it go. sad.gif

That speeding ticket was not for spending 15 minutes !?!! in the toilet, I'm sure of that. rolleyes.gif

Sorry, the speeding ticket thing was just an analogy for the parking towing, it didn't actually happen. I just think that it is very extreme to tow a car for being wrongly parked for 10 min.

I have some car like anger to vent too. If your a male driver under a certain age (somewhere around 23) your insurance is ridiculous. For females ts way less somewhere around like $300 less a year here in Southern Cali. Now I know this is B.S. because even though its now against the law to talk on a cell phone without a headset they still do, and now are worse drivers than ever. Somethings are ridiculous dry.gif .

+1

I was gonna go looking for a car last weekend, but a call to the insurance company really screwed that. Like you said, it was somewhere around $300, and it wasn't even a sports car. Pisses me off mad.gif

Hey Andrew! Now see there is something good about being old. You and I don't pay near that much do we? Well maybe you do...you might be a serial speed offender for all I know, but my insurance is very reasonable, cheaper than it was.....Oh jeeez, I have been driving for 28 yrs.
Oh and we can still drive and hold the phone up to our ear here....and smoke in bars....imagine it of you can. heh! It won't last too much longer I'm afraid. Anywho, rock on guys.

I'm 17 and have had my license for almost a year, I drive a 2002 Saturn SL2 with over 170,000 miles on it (My dad put 170,000 miles on in 5 years.ohmy.gif) and it has a 1.9 liter four banger in it. Anyways my car is gutless and the cheapest we could get my insurance was around 850 dollars and I only have Liability. If I was driving a Ferrari I would understand but this is just Ridiculous.

Yep, some things about getting older are cool ... although I am now fighting urges to wear a cap while I drive and slow down to about 30 on the interstate and drive erratically blink.gif

I'm going to be learning to drive next year and I've been told that as I'd be a 17 year old male, I'd be paying £1000-£1500 for insurance, or equivalently - 2000$-3000$, even if I got a car in a really low insurance group, I'd still be paying more on insurance than for the car I'd be buying.

Got it back, had to pay $257.57 for towing. That's $257.57 for being parked illegally for less than 10 min.
Cool thing was that at the towing place(where they only take cash) these guys were all confused about how they have 40$ less than what they thought they withdrew, I noticed that I had an extra 40$ from what I withdrew, I thought evil thoughts for about 10 seconds before I asked if he had just withdrew money from the ATM I did, he said yes, and I gave him the 40$ back. It seemed to had made his day that this young dude with long hair and a beard, who is usually percieved as a troublemaker, was actually being honest. Gave me a nice warm fuzzy feeling inside. Oh yes, RIP Dime, improving rockers reputations one tiny good deed at a time. wink.gif
It may seem really weird, but doing that little nice thing for that guy, made this whole thing seem worth it, now I couldn't care less about getting revenge on the guy that watched my car, waiting to tow it. Oh yea, I like it when crappy adventures end with a good moral.
Thanks for all the kinds word guys, it really helps. Oh yea, and insurance can suck.
