Ok, here is my take, for now... we are at the ending of a huge amount of tests and exams in school, and we have a test coming up on monday (on about 100p, which I of course started practicing today ... didn't have much time to practice for tests before anyway )... so you see... I don't' know if I will have the time to do any more takes by tomorrow, so I will upload this one today, just to be on the safe side...
Assignment_1.wmv ( 1.08MB ) Number of downloads: 128 It has some weak points, I know, but still, please comment, I started sweeping one week ago, so this is a huge step for me Cheers! PS. Video was poorly, and the backingtrack to my guitar playing didn't manage to get synchronized or well at all! ... My PC is incredibly slow today! PSS. Sorry for the bad English, hehe This post has been edited by arctic1234: Dec 5 2009, 11:55 PM -------------------- "Fake it ´til you make it" |

Well this was a good effort but it needs to be improved a lot. Is this 130bpm backing? Sounded faster to me Or maybe I'm wrong.
First thing is that you were a couple of beats late on the whole 1st section. You didn't start on time and you carried on. From the 2nd part you started on time but you were late on the last A note. I am sure you noticed that as it is obvious that the backing is not synchronised with your playing. The next thing is the triplet timing. If you checked my video I was explaining what I wouldn't like to hear and you did exactly that Those triplets need to be separated properly so that we really hear the triplet feel. You need to start practicing slowly with the metronome and once you realize you're ready then just press recording and do a good take. I know you said you didn't have much time for this one but we can't move on until this is fixed. I am waiting for another take Cheers -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile

Ok, Emir!
Now I finally have some spare time for a while (next test is not until next Friday !!!)... anyway, I have tried to do some more takes and I will now upload just a unfinished mp3 take, because I'm not quite sure I got it right... could you check whats wrong and so? dnv.wav ( 10.1MB ) Number of downloads: 143 (btw, it's not with the backing, I just want to know about my playing so far...) Cheers! -------------------- "Fake it ´til you make it" |

The playing is quite ok but the timing is not. You're not playing triplets You're playing two 16th notes and one 8th note. We need 8th triplets. Each note needs to have the same duration. Your last note is longer than the two sweeped notes. I hope you get the point here. 3 notes per one beat (metronome click) is what we need and those 3 all last 33.3% of the beat. Check my video again when I am counting beats and I hope you can understand from there. Tomorrow is the deadline, upload it however you play it as we need to move on but of course try you best

Ok, I have recorded a new take, and I believe I have got some sort of grip about the triplets, bad news is that movie maker refuses to work at the moment, so I will only have the audio file...
but still, I believe it is possible to hear what you want to hear (if I have got it right this time), since it's the triplets which clearly have been my biggest issue Assignment1.wav ( 6.36MB ) Number of downloads: 131 of course, it could need a lot of work totally, but I tried to focus on the triplet feel... Regarding triplets I think it's a bit better than the last one but you are constantly half a second behind the backing track (late). Can you hear the kick drum? That's exactly what you should follow. It keeps playing triplets all the way. You need to play the notes that way and stick with the kick drum together.
Let's move on to the 2nd assignment. Play 3 notes per string the same way (see my second video) in 130bpm and try to do this one again by next Sunday. If you make it before (maybe by Thursday) we will use next Sunday for the 3rd assignment and catch up what we've missed.
