The way I approached this one was to incorporate a few of the techniques that Todd has been injecting into the recent 'quick licks' lessons.
Open string then hammer-on, pinky stretch, alternate picking, pull-off, string traverse. The most important thing for me is to be able to apply this stuff. Using the lick in a solo (or as part of a song melody) is where the tree bears fruit. To that end, I looped a chord progression (Gm D F C), played Todd's lick at the top > added my own stuff > came back to the lick at the end. The hardest part for me is not making it sound like an exercise. I'm a little sloppy on the time. Definitely had fun doing it.
