Fantastic video Cael! I love the progressions and sounds that you can get from this tuning! It sounds completely fresh for me. Both the clean progressions and the distorted riff are very interesting. Thanks for this video.
I made a mini-lesson about Open G tuning here: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...showtopic=42689 -------------------- My lessons

It is very fresh indeed! The open G tuning is more bluesy/rock'n roley - out of what i know it can also be used for slide playing, right?
I experimented a bit with the one step lower version of the DADGAD, namely, the CGCFGC https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Joy-To-The-World/ |

Nice lesson! It sounds very cool. What bands or popular songs use that tuning? DADGAD or any of it's intervallic cousins is fairly common. A lot of players will use it on a song or three. Stones (also a lot of open G), Zeppelin, Simon and Garfunkle, Sevendust (though down tuned) Joni Mitchell, Ani DiFranco, Davey Graham, Bert Jansch, Andy McKee, Pierre Bensusan, Richard Thompson, Trey Anastasio ... -------------------- - Ken Lasaine

DADGAD is a very interesting tuning which was inspired by a style of music that most probably neither of us would expect (except Ken - I think he knows ) -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DADGAD |
