Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi Gert!

This take sounds really nice. I like the fact that you managed to keep a smooth hand movement when you put the accents on the up strums. This is exactly what I wanted to hear and see from you. Also, the fact that you succeeded in having a very good transition between chords and keeping them clear is a great thing.

You have just two tiny moments (0:28, 0:47) where you hurry the timing a little. That's my only complaint.

I want to highlight something. The differences that we hear in the strumming pattern (0:02, 0:23 - 0:29, etc) are not mistakes. In the lesson, the instructor explained (slow videos) the rhythm in a different way than he played in the main video. Also, he specified that the students can come up with some variations.

For the next task (rhythm), I propose to you this lesson (be careful because this lesson seems much easier than it is):

Congrats on your take. You get an 8 from me.

Keep up your awesome work!

Very nice Gert!

Overall you are doing an excellent job here.

Just like Monica, I would like to see a slightly more varied strumming pattern from you. This will make it sound less repetitive /robotic.

I think part of the problem might be that your sound is heavily distorted - and it takes the nuances out of your strumming. If you cannot really hear those subtle strumming variations - you will not be inclined to work on them.

Bear does have a fair amount of distortion - but his sound repsonds well to dynamics. If you cannot replicate his chain (that stuff can be tricky indeed) - I would advise you to simply dial back the gain / distortion as a quick solution for practicing purposes.

Keep up the mazing work!
