Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi Rammikin! You are on the right track with this lesson. Your take is better than the previous one but it still need work on the things that we marked in your previous lesson. The intro riff and the main riff that starts at 00:27 need some timing adjust. The chord changes are better now but could be even better. Keep on working hard!

Yes...it's big progress, but I think there is one veeery important thing,You should work on - Your tone. It's bright and very contour. Brightness is a good thing (some of other REC takes have a lack of treble in guitar tone) but in Your tone there is not enough frequencies with information about the note. It's like I hear that guitar plays in the mix but I'm feel confused while trying to capture the notes by ear. Work a little bit on this. Drums are not always cut as much in the "raw backing mix" than in album productions. You have to pay attention to how much middle freq are going through the drums and other backing instruments. Even if You like very powerful tone with middle cut...You should try to reach good balance with the backing track. Watch for some 160-250 Hz range and about 1 kHz...that's were we point information about the note in rhythm guitars. Do some experiments with EQ...it will profit in the future. As for the timing it's much better but personally I would like to see one more take with better tone and with perfect timming because now I see You can handle it and You did a big progress with this lesson. Cheers! smile.gif

I'm here to grade mate smile.gif We have discussed about everything while working on this take. I think that you have made visible progress and you are most clearly on the right path, so why not continue by following Darius' advice regarding the tone?

Keep rocking man!

Cosmin

Damn...I was too crude for You with my rate....

I've reviewed this take a few more times, compared it to the previous one and if it's possible I would like a moderator to consider my rating as 8. I think You passed Rammikin and You could deserve higher rate while You'll work on Your tone. Fran...is this possible to remove my previous rating?
